The 2004 Recipients are:
- Pat Allison - Pat has been an arts teacher for JCPS for more than 30 years, including 23 years at the Youth Performing Arts School. She is a Past Chair of the YPAS Theater Department and founder and producer of the New Works Festival.
- Nana Yaa Asantewaa - Nana or "Mama" Yaa is this community's consummate storyteller, having performed for children and adults throughout the area. In addition to performing, she currently serves as executive director of the Louisville Arts Council which is developing a comprehensive listing of available artists in the community.
- Mitzi Friedlander - Mitzi has been a teacher and performer of theater and musical arts throughout the community for more than 40 years. She has performed with almost every theater troupe as well as the Louisville Ballet and Kentucky Opera. She is the first recipient of the Didymous Award for narration of one thousand titles of Talking Books for the Library of Congress.
- Sherry Jelsma - Sherry is being honored for her service as Chair of the Kentucky Center Board and her current position as Chair of the Speed Art Museum Board.
- Crit Luallen - Currently serving as the Commonwealth's forty-seventh Auditor of Public Accounts, Crit has also served as Secretary of the Executive Cabinet, Secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet, Secretary of the Tourism Cabinet, and the first Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of the Arts.
- Adale O'Brien - Adales's distinguished career as a theater artist spans 50 years, including 34 years as a member of the resident company at Actors Theatre of Louisville. She has originated roles in more than 30 world premieres through her work in the Humana Festival of New American Plays. She also has worked regionally at Arena Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse, Cleveland Play House, Long Wharf and Meadow Brook.
- Geraldine Ann Snyder - Geraldine, in partnership with her husband, Paul Lenzi, is co-founder of the Blue Apple Players which performs issues-oriented and educational plays for school children throughout the state and region. In addition to performing, Geraldine has written and directed many of the troupe's productions.
